COVID-19 -What we're doing to keep patients safe

Midface Lift

A midface lift provides the patient with a younger appearance by removing loose and sagging skin around the neck, chin, and jawline. There are many different factors that affect the skin’s appearance including genetics, sun exposure, and aging. These factors cause the skin to fit more loosely and as the folds are more pronounced, an older and more worn look results. A midface lift allows the patient to enjoy a revitalized appearance as wrinkles and loose skin are expertly removed.

Rhytidectomy or face lifts are performed by Dr. Hiranaka and serve to enhance the appearance while correcting any pre existing conditions that need to be addressed. A midface lift is often combined with other procedures such as a forehead lift, chin surgery, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, and liposuction.

What to expect before surgery

Prior to surgery, you will be evaluated based on your medical history to see what your general health condition is. Then we will discuss your goals for the outcome of your surgery and talk about what you would like your face to look like. Our goal is to ensure that the end result exceeds your expectations and provides you with a soft and natural appearance. With computer images, we can project the end result of your surgery so that you have an idea what the final outcome will be.

During Surgery & Post Operative Care

During surgery you will receive IV sedation or anesthesia according to your preferences. We may also provide premeditation to help you relax. Subsequently incisions will be made at the temple and hairline as well as behind the ears. Once the surgery is completed, sutures will be used to close the open areas. After surgery, you will be experiencing moderate discomfort which can be controlled using pain relievers. The sutures are taken out after the first 5 to 10 days. Healing time is gradual and the final results will be visible after 6 months.
